The significance of locally-led practices in global aid, humanitarianism, and development has been firmly established. International agreements like the Paris Declaration and Busan have highlighted the importance of “country ownership” and “using country systems.” Recently, Plug-In. Mz conducted a qualitative study to explore the pathways for localising Cares’s operations in Mozambique. The team consulted with diverse stakeholders nationally and internationally, including Care’s staff, partners, government agencies, donors, and local organisations, to provide recommendations on the most suitable and financially viable locally-led development option(s) for Care International in Mozambique.
